You Naughty Boys!

Is it just me or does the $500 fine and tongue lashing to the Six “Party Blacks” for staying out late the day before the Bledisloe Cup match seem rather petty? All of the six players were not in the starting 22 for the game, the game was not that evening but the next day, and this has been a tradition amongst New Zealand rugby for years! The worst part about it is that a member of the public slipped a note under Henry’s door to tattle tale, must have been an Aussie!

Hey Nathan. What would you say it was me that allegedly left the note under Graham Henry's door re their late night shenannigans?! Ok, it wasn't me, but I wonder who it could have been. Probably someone a little closer in the camp than your average joe bloggs passer by. Whatever way, they have been treated like school boys and considering the average age is about 26 it is a little sad. However, I'm not much of a fan of Weepu anyway so I guess he only had himself to blame at the end of the day. In this professional rugby world - you've got to play the game on and off the field to guarantee you'll stay ahead.
BTW - very jealous you're off to the World Cup. Hope you have an awesome time and that the ABs can finally bring home bill.

You have a very good point about playing the game on and off the field in the new age of professional rugby. I think it was much more interesting when the players were allowed to have a personality, don't you? I say hit them all with the hand-bag and then forget about it!!

I can't wait until I get over to Wales for my first game, it's going to be awsome!!!!!

Players break curfew all the time! From what I hear none of these guys were drunk, just out late and having a good time. I think they should have been ready to train and play (just in case). But methinks they might have had a reason to let off some steam (did someone tip them off regarding the selection?).
On another note: I wish I could go to the semis or the final, but instead I'm going to watch Canada in Cardiff and New Zealand in Edinburgh in September. It'll be such a great party, now all I have to do is find somewhere to stay! Have a great time in Cardiff! I know I always do! Cheers....

Yeah the whole thing stinks, let the boys have a little fun! Never thought about the selection being leaked, I wonder.....

Finding a place to stay will be tough, I have looked for a place in Cardiff during the quarter finals and they are few and far between. I agree Cardiff is a great town to soak up the atmosphere! Enjoy your games in Cardiff and Edinburgh!!
